In 2014 there will be a shift toward short, concise videos that will tell a deeper story than pictures can tell. Businesses will use this to their advantage.

Businesses will embrace the "fandom". Fandom is the fans that exist within your overall customer base. I think Businesses will embrace them in 2014 and make a bigger effort to identify them.Connecting with them and giving them the tools to help them spread the word about your business will help your business a lot in the end.

There will be in 2014 a bigger focus on the context.
 Brands should start asking themselves, "How are people using a particular social channel?" and "What makes a channel unique?" Then they will create relevant content based on that insight. Focus and create more content.

Google will continue to grow in size and importance.
Google has 300+ million montly active users. Not only has google become a social popular platform but it's integration with Google search results and Google Authorship makes it a no-brainer in 2014.

Businesses will get more involded into paid advertising.
With so many users on Facebook and brands that are using Facebook to market their business, paid advertising will need to be a critical part of their social strategy if they want to be seen by more users.
